Blue Fluted MegaBlue Fluted Mega is both comfortingly familiar and surprisingly refreshing. In this unusual reinterpretation of the blue fluted pattern, selected details have been enlarged but are still painted by hand, preserving the original and unique vivid blue effect. The Blue Fluted Mega pattern was created by the young design student Karen Kjældgård-Larsen in 2000, signalled the beginning of a new adventure. The famous hand-painted pattern has become a household name again, expressing both its historical authenticity and creative, innovative thinking. Blue Fluted Mega was originally designed with 8 different patterns. On the back of your Mega product you will find a number. This refers to the pattern on this specific item.
Royal Copenhagen
Royal Copenhagen was established in 1775, in order to manufacture gifts for international friends of the Danish Royal Family. Since its foundation, their policy "only excellent quality" has not changed, and their artistic products are appreciated by Royal Families of the world. Delicate lace skill, high quality hand wrote pattern, the Copenhagen Blue; Artisans of Royal Copenhagen pass those traditional crafts from generation to generation, and the proudness of working for this tableware brand.

Karen Kjældgård-Larsen grew up with the Blue Fluted service and had always been fascinated by it and the small differences that typify the hand-painted service and make every single piece unique.
She was only 26 years old when she first knocked on the door at Royal Copenhagen and the meeting led to the launch of Blue Fluted Mega. It was therefore also with great respect for the old service, which was the porcelain factory's first back in 1775, that the Blue Fluted Mega decoration came into being.
Selected fragments of the traditional Blue Fluted decoration are enlarged, so that beautifully sweeping lines and portions of the stylised chrysanthemum form an almost graphical whole.
The Blue Fluted Mega products have all been created on the basis of the shapes from the original Blue Fluted service of 1775.
