Minton Cutlery
Thomas Minton founded Minton in 1793, and was an engraver of copperplate, which is used for transfer printing. He aimed for artistic and decorative workmanship. During the era of his son, Herbert Minton, talented artisans were recruited, and new techniques were developed, such as "Parian Porcelain" or "Acid Gold". His nephew, Collin, who succeeded him as head of company, invented a new decoration method. Those Miton family's efforts were rewarded by Queen Victoria, who proclaimed as the most beautiful Bone China of the world.
