Albert was founded in 1896 by Thomas Wilde and Thomas Clark Wilde in Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of British ceramics. The brand was named "Albert" after Queen Victoria's husband, Prince Albert, and the Queen and his wife's grandson, Prince Albert George V, because the founder loved the British royal family.
