Iittala "Taika (Owl)" Clear Tumbler 380ml (set of 2)
Description
In 2014, a new form was added to the popular Taika. The glass surface is delicately designed with etching, a traditional glassworking technique, and the flexibility of this pattern to blend in with new materials is demonstrated. In this way, the magical story of the Taika series continues into the future. "TAIKA Series" Meaning "magic"
in Finnish, "Taika" is a series characterized by fantastic illustrations created from the rich imagination of designer Harpaniemi. It is a design that is fully considered for combination with the simple "TEEMA" series of Iittala so far and the glass series such as the "AINO AALTO" with its characteristic uneven pattern.
Klaus Hapaniemi, who designed the "Designer Description" pattern, was born in Finland in 1970 and is a London-based illustrator. He has designed prints for well-known brands such as Levi's, Marimekko, Dolce & Gabbana and display designs for the Selfridges department store. His reputation has now led him to the point of being "Finland's most talented illustrator".
Heikki Orbora, who designed the vessels, was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1943 and is one of the leading figures in Finnish design today. He is active mainly in the field of industrial design.
*It is OK to use the dishwasher and dryer. (It is not a heat-resistant glass.)
In 1881, Iittala was born as a glassware manufacturer in the wilderness of Finland, a country of forests and lakes. High-quality glassware by glassblowing meister Peter Macnus Afrahamsson captivated people at the time as "glass with a special brilliance". Since then, as a glass manufacturer that inherits its beautiful brilliance and traditional craftsmanship, we have continued to make high-quality, high-sensitivity products.
Created under the policy of "making glassware with the purest brilliance", "Ittala" glassware does not use any lead that is harmful to the human body or the environment. This is based on the spirit of the Nordic people who love nature and live in harmony with nature, and it is supported by people all over the world who love the earth. In addition, it is resistant to direct sunlight and has excellent practicality such as being resistant to scratches.
In recent years, in addition to glassware, Finland has been expanding its collection as a "comprehensive brand of tableware" representing Finland.
Ittala's products are easy to use with beautiful forms, and you can enjoy endless combinations of colors that transcend materials. In addition, it features a simple and modern design that can be used carefully and for a long time beyond generations from parents to children.
Points to note about how to care for glassware]
