Satsuma Vidro / Satsuma Kiriko Flashed Glass "Sakura-jima" Red Black Sake Cup 80ml
Description
Sakurajima is said to be a symbol of Kagoshima. The "Sakurajima Cup" created by Satsuma Biidoro Kogei is a
cup with the motif of Sakurajima, which is like a family for the people of Kagoshima Prefecture. A
beautiful gradation "blur" boldly and delicately carved on the thick glass fabric unique to Satsuma Kiriko.
The pattern expresses the brilliance of sunlight reflected on the surface of the waters of Kinko Bay.
Furthermore, when the cup is lowered, it is adorable that it becomes the silhouette of Sakurajima. The fact that it also won the Kagoshima Prefecture Special Products
Association Chairman's Award at the "2014 Kagoshima New Specialty Products Contest"
is a gem filled with love for Sakurajima and Kagoshima. A
black and gold-red double cover of Sakurajima cup.
Satsuma kiriko, which is covered with thick colored glass,
was covered with yet another colored glass to pursue the depth of color.
This is a series where you can enjoy the brilliance of crystal glass beautifully with overlapping colors and vivid gradations.
It is a gem full of dignity like Satsuma Kiriko and has a strong presence.
By faithfully restoring Satsuma Kiriko,
Satsuma Bidoro Craft aims to create authentic works that can impress.
At the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, why don't you tilt your
sake cup while thinking about the people of Satsuma, who were quick to adopt new information and products from overseas that Japan people have not yet seen, and who were looking ahead to the future of this country
As a heartfelt gift for loved ones.
Regardless of whether you are a woman or a man, it
is ideal as an elegant gift with heartfelt gratitude for a special anniversary for those who take care of you on a daily basis, a festive gift or present, but
also a reward for your hard work.
Satsuma Biidoro Crafts was founded in 1994 in the northern part of Kagoshima Prefecture and has a workshop on the grounds of Kannon Falls Park, where you can hear the whisper of the clear stream of Satsuma Town. From the beginning, we began to restore the golden-red, ruri, and indigo Satsuma kiriko, and in 1997, with the aim of faithfully restoring the Satsuma kiriko, we announced the fourth color "green" and at the same time received the Kagoshima Prefecture Traditional Craft Designation. In 2000, he received the Kagoshima Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman's Award at the Kagoshima City Crafts Exhibition, and in 2006, he began selling Satsuma Kurokiriko.
Satsuma Biidoro Kogei is working on the production of newly created Satsuma kiriko and air-blown crystal works, centered on restored Satsuma kiriko, and has been highly evaluated both inside and outside the prefecture.
As proof of manufacturing, all products are engraved with "Satuma" and "Kagoshima Prefecture Traditional Crafts Certificate".
"Characteristics of Satsuma Kiriko"
Satsuma kiriko is a cut glass produced by the Satsuma Domain from the end of the Tokugawa shogunate to the beginning of the Meiji period. A major feature of Satsuma Kiriko is the "blur" that appears on the shaved surface. "Colored coated glass" is made by covering transparent glass with colored glass. At that time, it was the only technology in Japan that only the Satsuma Domain possessed. When a thick layer of colored glass is scraped, the color layer becomes thinner as it goes down, creating a "blur". And along with blurring, large and deep cuts are also characteristic of Satsuma Kiriko. "History of Kiriko" In the middle of the Edo period, cut glass "kiriko"
was first made in Osaka, and eventually it was introduced to Edo and blossomed as Japan original cut glass "Edo kiriko". At the end of the Edo period, the Satsuma Domain created "Satsuma Kiriko," which is a fabric made by layering colored glass on transparent glass under the influence of Edo kiriko to promote industry. Satsuma Kiriko, which was backed by the unique sensibilities of Japan people, boasted high technology and beauty, but it was abolished in a short life during the turmoil at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate. The ruined Satsuma Kiriko was forgotten for a long time, but at the end of the 20th century, it was reprinted again and revived its beautiful appearance.
