It is said that Venetian glass originates from the invention of Roman glass of ancient Roman times, and in that era, there have already been many glass workshops throughout the Italian peninsula.
However, the Republic of Venice, which is the land unable to yield raw materials and fuel in its own country, was afraid that the technology leaked out to other countries having abundant raw materials and made copy products, so in 1291, Venice validated an act, "Force entire glass workshops, glass artisans, their families, sellers to live in Murano island, and those who escapes outside the island, strictly panish, and those who renders distinguished services, give the reward." and until today, Murano island is the center of Venetian glass, and the people living in the island share the same fate with Venetian glass in their generations.
