village of Baccarat in the Rolraine region, about 400 km east of Paris, a glass factory was built in 1764 with the approval of Louis XV, and the history of brilliance began. In 1817, full-scale crystal production began, and at the Paris National Exposition of 1823, it was awarded the Gold Prize in recognition of its high transparency and delicate cuts. Since then, it has been used by Louis XVIII and other royal nobles around the world.
