Emma Bridgewater / Earthenware "Blue Star" Plate 22cm
Description
It is a cereal bowl characterized by a warm cream ground color with a textured finish by sponge coloring of handbarrow.
The design is full of hope and courage studded with blue stars, and
the shades of color are also handmade charms.
Emma Bridgewater's biggest feature is the technique called "sponge wear".
We make a sponge stamp mold with a pattern designed by the founder Emma
, ink the sponge, and carefully color the unglazed pottery by pompom and manual work.
There is no one of the same color and pattern in the design born by the stamp that skilled craftsmen push one by
one.
It is an attractive hand paint item that feels the warmth of people.
21cm size easy to use for breakfast, lunch, dinner, anytime.
This dish is ideal for dessert plates and
cake plates.
Regardless of whether it is a woman or a man, it is
ideal not only as a gift or present for celebrations, but also as a
reward for yourself who worked hard for those who are indebted to you on a daily basis and important people with a special anniversary.
Reminiscent of the polite life of a small English village,
emmabridgewater's tableware is
based on "Made in England - Made in the UK"
, and has a workshop in Stoke-on-Trent, the birthplace of British ceramics, and is
consistently performed in the UK from firing to coloring.
Looking for a set of special cup saucers as a birthday present for her mother, Emma was disappointed that there was no shop selling what she was looking for. And in 1985, Emma set up a pottery company when she realized that there were others like herself who wanted colorful, beautiful and practical pottery. Emma Bridgewater is now run by her and husband Matthew Rice, who also organises designs. The pattern design of the spongewear and the shape are in charge of Emma, and the design of the more regular collection, Year in the Country, Bird and Animal is by Matthew.
Design ideas are all inspired by the daily lives of Emma and Matthew and their four children. For example, the marmalade pattern with bright round-sliced oranges was created every February after the family's custom of making homemade marmalade and stocking it on cupboards. All of Emma Bridgewater's pottery products are handmade in Stoke-on-Trent, the birthplace of British ceramics. It is one of the largest ceramics manufacturers in Stoke-on-Trent and is also sold at well-known London department stores such as Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Liberty.
All Emma Bridgewater spongewear uses hand-cut sponge stamps. Dating from the 19th century, the technology is Emma Bridgewater's greatest feature, bringing it colorful and special charm. Emma and Matthew design all the patterns, which are cut into sponges using "soldering ants" in the factory. And, ink is attached to the sponge, and the pattern is drawn on the unglazed pottery. Some are very complex, but they are for skilled potters. Because it is a back stamp of the handbarrow, there is a shade of the color, but it is also the charm of the handmade.
