Royal Doulton / 皇家道尔顿
In 1815, the partnership between John Doulton and John Watts enabled to found Royal Doulton, which was a manufacturer of stoneware, in the London district called Lambeth.
The second-generation, Henry Doulton introduced new technology to increase the production: steam engines, drainage system, sanitary materials. Those modifications contributed greatly to the development of London, and his own manufactory. Then, in 1877, he started to produce born china and artistic tableware.
Henry became in 1887 the first potter to be knighted, and the manufactory received the title of Royal in 1901. Royal Doulton is not only the largest maker of England; it is the best ceramic maker of the world.
