Tsuiki / 锥器
Tsuiki is a Japanese silverware and copperware brand founded in the middle of Edo-period (around 1750). They made tableware products from metal plate using hammer and striking techinques. These kind of techniques were introduced firstly in Bunsui town, located in Niigata prefecture. In the beggining, Tsuiki was making only daily products like copper-kattles, but from the end of Meiji period started to switch producing well-decorated sake and tea cups, luxury items like ornaments and vases. In 1981 Tsuiki was authorized as traditional handicraft of Japan, by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
