GLASSBACCA × Philippe Jamese "Tencho - Porcelain" Swirling Sake Cup 200ml with Wooden Coaster
Description
Approved as a prize of “prize President (Prix du Président)” Kura Master, Japanese Sake Competition in France!
“Tencho”, “zenith” in French, is a special sake set that pursuits to enjoy each character.
Sake’s charm is the change of taste in different temperature. It is shaped as the warmth of hands directly effects, therefor it is a perfect sake set to enjoy the difference.
Creating a new style of Sake set that brings out its aroma to the utmost limit, is my passion. That was what Mr.Phillipe Jamesse, the master of champagne in France, most wished to come true.
Aroma is one of the most important essence in champagne. His experience knew that the sphere shape would bring out the best aroma of Japanese sake to the utmost limit.
Although both types (glass and porcelain) has the structure for bringing out aroma, we recommend to select porcelain type if you wish to enjoy Nurukan (warm) and Atsukan (hot).
< The concept >
All creatures and nature are consistent in the world of sphere. I feel all resources are created from its center.
Mr.Jamesse has such a philosophical concept and that was the beginning of the design.
< Design >
Mr. Jamesse realized that Japanese sake is produced based on the balance and peace. The balance of people’s spirit, tradition, craftmanship, rice, water, land, and weather, is the key for sake. Therefore, the sphere shape came first to his mind as designing as if sake welling up from it.
Sphere shape brings out the aroma perfectly and the lid is designed to be warped to enjoy its aroma and palate. Also the pedestal is made of cedar wood, that gives an impression of harmonize with nature.

Comment from Mr. Phillipe Jamesse for "Tencho"
I was quite fascinated to the pure flavor of rice and soil. The pureness is something I’ve never experienced. They are doing an excellent job to make the best out of it.
I’d like to recommend these 3 different types. Each of them tell their back stories of the local nature and philosophy.
