In 1881, Iittala was born as a glassware manufacturer in the wilderness of Finland, a country of forests and lakes. The high-quality glassware by glassblower Peter Maknus Afrahamsson fascinated people at the time as "glass with a special brilliance". Since then, as a glass manufacturer that has inherited its beautiful brilliance and traditional craftsmanship, we have continued to produce high-quality, highly sensitive products.
Iittala glass products produced under the policy of "producing glassware with the purest brilliance" do not contain any lead that is harmful to the human body or the environment. This is the spirit of the Nordic people who love nature and live in harmony with it, and it is supported by people all over the world who love the earth. In addition, it is resistant to direct sunlight and has excellent practicality, such as being resistant to damage.
In recent years, in addition to glassware, we have been expanding our collection as a "comprehensive brand of tableware" representing Finland.
Iittala products are easy to use with beautiful forms, and you can enjoy endless color combinations that transcend materials. In addition, it features a simple and modern design that can be used carefully for a long time across generations, from parents to children.
