Spode x Morris & Co "Pastel - Fruit, Willow, Strawberry Thief, Marigold" Plate 23cm (set of 4 patterns)
Description
This is a set of 4 pale pastel strawberry thief, willow bow, fruit, marigold pattern plate. "
Strawberry-Thi Japan ef" depicts the world view of British thinker and poet William Morris, who had a great influence on the history of modern design
, "The small trouble of a farmer growing strawberries being pecked by a bird."
It is one of William
Morris' most popular designs.
The design of "Strawberry Thief"
is inspired by the small worries of gardeners in their daily lives.
Morris tried to grow strawberries at Kelmscott Manor, but was
quickly eaten by the gluttonous birds.
As described in Morris' notes,
it was actually a different kind of bird, but
Morris designed this bird instead of an adorable thrush.
Paying attention to the branches and leaves of the willow trees along the banks of a tributary of the Thames,
Morris
completed the design of the Willow Bow after several studies. It is a
design that can be said to be Morris' masterpiece by observing all the details and sublimating it into a pattern that makes you feel the organic vitality.
The fruit is a
complex compositional pattern that combines the design of the main fruit "pomegranate" in the flow of branches.
The antique-style colors are full of a gentle atmosphere.
Marigolds
are characterized by a pretty pattern of marigold flowers blooming on the ground pattern of willow leaves. The
dinner plate 23cm is just
the right size not only for dinner main dishes but also for breakfast
bread. It
can be used for rice dishes such as pilaf or as a serving plate for one person.
It is also very useful as a cake plate and fruit dish. It is also perfect for famous plates.
Regardless of whether you are a woman or a man, it
is ideal as an elegant gift with heartfelt gratitude for a special anniversary for those who take care of you on a daily basis, a festive gift or present, but
also a reward for your hard work.
